Online calculator for the thermal resistance in interleaved
fin connectors. The result is presented as a function of
the fin position in the gap.
General The theory is explained in the document Interleaved Fin Connectors. Inputs Length Is the length of the connector. Width Is the width of the connector. Overlapping Is the portion of the fin height enclosed by the gap. Fin cond Is the thermal conductivity of the fin material. For various materials see: Tools from Maya Fin height Is the height of the fins. Fin thickness Is the thickness of the fins. Fin count Is the fin count for the bottom part. Gap width Is the fin-to-fin distance. This input is not edible. The value is adjusted on mouse exit from on of the fin count, fin thickness and width inputs. Gap cond Is the thermal conductivity for the gap material. Edit options Save last/Delete last Saves or deletes the last curve in the diagram. Maximum capacity is 5 curves.
